Herb Kelleher, the leader who revolutionized the airline industry by empowering his employees

Post by bitheerani319 »

Most businessmen and managers repeat the phrase “ the customer is always right” over and over again . But Herb Kelleher , founder of the American airline Southwest Airlines and one of the richest men on the planet, does not agree with it. In fact, he believes it would be absurd to assume something like this: “I would not respect my people if I said that the customer is always right. There are rcs data belarus customers who treat our employees badly. They are not right and we do not want to give them any service. We do not tolerate them abusing our employees.” This is the philosophy behind the success of this American, who in the sixties revolutionized the air scene by creating the first low-cost airline in the world .

But let's start at the beginning... Kelleher was born in 1931 in Camden, New Jersey. After showing his talent as a leader on various high school sports teams, he graduated in English Literature from Wesleyan University. Everything seemed to indicate that his career would be linked to journalism, but he finally decided to study law and emigrate to Texas to try to set up his own law firm. One of his first clients was Rollin King, a local businessman who told him about his idea of creating an airline with very low prices for customers. Kelleher loved the idea, so he left his law firm and fully embarked on the project. In 1971, the two founded the revolutionary low-cost airline Southwest Airlines.
