5 Things to Keep in Mind in 2015
With the start of 2015 just days away, we need concrete and precise information to be able to formulate appropriate marketing plans and strategies based on the latest market trends and e-commerce consumer habits . Recently, the Spanish online retail giant, Yodetiendas, presented its study on more than 3,500 transactions carried out through its website in the last six months. The conclusions they reached are very interesting and follow the line of what has also been mail marketing to doctors seen in the United States and Latin America.

E-commerce Consumer Behavior?
Online sales continue to grow at a more than healthy pace. As user confidence increases and more facilities are offered in online media, the number of purchases made has been steadily increasing. But what do we buy the most? What is the behavior of the e-commerce consumer?

The Spanish study shows that trends have not changed much in this regard compared to previous years. While other studies, when distinguishing between men and women, do not indicate variation in the percentage of purchases (around 50% for both sexes), Yodetiendas was able to verify on its website that women buy more than men , with their percentage being close to 60% and that of men barely 40%.

Men have therefore focused more on purchasing everything related to technology, electronics and household appliances, while there has been a marked growth in other categories such as cosmetics, clothing and footwear among women.

When do we buy more?
One of the most relevant data from the Spanish study is the fact that it is known the time and day when consumers make the most purchases. Based on this, it was possible to conclude that 56% of weekly purchases take place between Monday and Wednesday .

The reason for this, they theorize, is that online customers know that most deliveries are made Monday through Friday, and they prefer to enjoy their purchases the same week they are made and not have to wait until the following week to receive them. For this reason, Saturdays are the days with the fewest online purchases .

Users do not shop at any time either. Most of them make their purchases in the morning, with their peak activity being between 11am and 1pm. On the other hand, the time of day with the fewest purchases is at night, from 10pm to 7am.
