The so-called “ Serious Games ” are those whose main objective is not to entertain, but to teach or practice skills. The use of this type of applications is growing rapidly, as it has proven to be an efficient training method in various sectors such as education, defense, aeronautics, science or health.
The purposes of these games can range from training to develop extreme skills, as would be the case for firefighters who must learn to act efficiently in risky and pressured situations, to training in more commonly used skills such as sales or languages.
Serious Games are ideal for training because they promote the construction of rcs data iran and the development of skills through exposure to different situations, cases or problems. They simulate a real situation, so that the user can interact in the environment just as they would in a real environment.
All this is possible thanks to “ Game learning ” or “ G-learning ”, which combines the appearance of a video game with gamification elements, theoretical material and a simulator to put knowledge into practice. Thus, through different challenges of increasing complexity, players apply the theory to specific situations and, thanks to the simulator, receive constant evaluation.
Since 2014, the first platform to pioneer the development of this type of games for corporate training has been available in Spain. This is Gamelearn , a Madrid-based start-up that closed its first round of institutional financing this year with an investment of 2 million euros from the Kibo Ventures fund (one of the most important venture capital firms in Spain).
Gamelearn is a project led by three entrepreneurs: Ibrahim Jabary, Mai Apraiz and Eduardo Monfort – former master's classmates – who have opted for this innovative methodology for training management skills.
So far, the company has four titles: Triskelion , to improve personal productivity; Pacific , to improve leadership skills; 2100 , to boost customer service capabilities; and Navieros , to learn how to negotiate.
Although the company already has a significant recognition, the great vote of confidence from Kibo Ventures will allow it to strengthen its presence at an international level in 2017 and establish this learning method as a new and revolutionary solution to the training needs of companies.
