The different opt-in procedures

Post by nishat@264 »

There are different opt-in procedures that make it possible to obtain the consent of potential customers. Common examples include consent to cookies, signing up for newsletters or filling out registration forms. This not only gives companies permission to process personal data, but also legally protects them against complaints from recipients. To ensure that there is proof of the consent of the respective user, the following data is stored using the opt-in procedure:

URL of the registration form
IP address and timestamp
declaration of consent
Double opt-in email if applicable
There are different opt-in procedures indonesia whatsapp data in permission marketing. The following methods can be distinguished:

single opt-in
Single opt-in is a one-step process for obtaining consent from users for a company to process their personal data. It is usually limited to simply checking a box or filling out a registration form. The data is then processed - without the user being asked to confirm their consent.

From a legal perspective, the single opt-in procedure is somewhat questionable . It is of course possible that the contact details provided are not your own but those of someone else, as the data is not verified in a second step. Accordingly, it cannot be clearly assumed that consent has been given.

confirmed opt-in
The confirmed opt-in procedure is an improved version of the single opt-in. After entering their data, users receive an email informing them that they have been added to an email distribution list. This email usually also contains a link that allows them to be removed from the distribution list immediately. This means that address holders who have not forwarded their contact details themselves have the option of using an opt-out procedure straight away. However, if no active objection is made, users will remain on the email distribution list.

double opt-in
With the double opt-in procedure, the user's consent to the processing of their personal data is obtained in two ways. Firstly, for example, by filling out a registration form, and secondly via a confirmation email in which the user is asked to verify their consent by clicking on a confirmation link. This email also explains which data is collected and what purpose this process serves. Advertising, however, may not be included in this confirmation email.
