Scenario 2030: Cashless shops with 24-hour opening hours

Around half of consumers (48 percent) believe that brick-and-mortar stores will be open 24 hours a day for customers in just over ten years, as there are no longer any legally prescribed store opening hours for them or online retailers . Around one in two (49 percent) also think that by 2030, used-up household products, such as toilet paper or detergent, will be replenished without the customer having to do anything.

54 percent of respondents also believe that card middle east gambling data payments or mobile payments will prevail, as cash will no longer be accepted in brick-and-mortar stores in 2030. Among 14- to 29-year-olds, 58 percent of respondents already see this scenario as very or fairly widespread by 2030.



Note on methodology: The information is based on a survey conducted by Bitkom Research on behalf of the digital association Bitkom. 1,086 internet users aged 14 and over were questioned, including 1,054 online shoppers. The survey is representative. The question was: "Let's take another look into the future. Please assess how widespread the following scenarios will be in 2030." The possible answers were: "will be very widespread", "will be fairly widespread", "will be relatively unprevalent" and "will not be widespread at all".
