Culture, events, gastronomy: Majority wants registration via app

Post by hasan018542 »

Shortly before the Whitsun weekend, many federal states reopened their outdoor restaurants, and cultural events are also permitted under certain conditions. The requirements for guests vary greatly, but usually include having to provide their own contact details. People in Germany have a clear preference for this: More than half (55 percent) would prefer to register via app: 28 percent prefer the Corona warning app , 27 percent another app, such as the Luca app or eGuest. Only a fifth (21 percent) would like to register by hand: 19 percent on a list that is displayed and 2 percent on a piece of paper that is handed to staff. These are the results of a representative survey of 1,004 people in Germany aged 16 and over, which was conducted from mid-April to mid-May 2021.

According to the study, older people in particular prefer the paper version: 35 percent of seniors over 65 years of age prefer to register by hand - but only 19 percent of 50- to 64-year-olds, 16 percent of 30- to 49-year-olds and 14 percent of 16- to 29-year-olds. Younger people, on the other hand, are pioneers when it comes to digital registration: 70 percent of 16- to 29-year-olds, 63 percent of 30- to 49-year-olds and 61 percent of 50- to 64-year-olds rely on registration via app - among those over 65, the figure is 27 thailand gambling data percent. "Paper lists that can be viewed by anyone are not only completely unsuitable for data protection reasons - they also require an immense amount of effort when it comes to quickly breaking chains of infection. If restaurants have to laboriously decipher telephone numbers and possibly come across fictitious names, valuable time is lost," says Bitkom President Achim Berg. "An app solution is not only forgery-proof, it also informs potentially infected people immediately, and some even report an infection directly to the health department."

Those who prefer to register via app cite the uncomplicated data collection as an advantage (50 percent). Almost as many (47 percent) emphasize the better support from health authorities. Just over a third see the faster interruption of infection chains as an advantage (37 percent). A quarter of people in Germany see a lower risk of infection because contact with pen and paper is avoided (24 percent). Of those who want to register by hand, most cite the fact that registration is easier this way than via app (42 percent). 39 percent are worried about data protection and 35 percent do not have a smartphone . Berg: "Those who do not have a smartphone, including children, can in certain cases use a key chain with a QR code. In some cities, these are already being issued in test centers or other public places. After the tags have been issued, they must be registered online and the contact details entered once. The wearer can then be contacted - if necessary."
