On average, an enterprise's IT park contains 900 applications. The expansion of new endpoints increases the area of possible hacker attacks, which requires reliable API protection.
84% of that have strong security measures. Investing in security is also a major investment in enterprise technology.
According to Verizon, 43% of data breaches last year were caused by web application vulnerabilities. Gartner predicts that 90% of web application attacks will be through API exploits rather than user interface vulnerabilities. By 2022, they will be the most common attack vector for enterprise web applications to steal data. Akamai reports that 83% of web traffic is API traffic.
6. Microservices
Organizations are using microservices to build solutions poland mobile database that improve user experiences. Companies deploying microservices in production will need to use service meshes to scale.
According to the MuleSoft report, “Microservices deliver data and functionality as a set of loosely coupled services. They enable organizations to quickly adapt to changing customer needs and demands and offer services that create a competitive advantage.” 91% of organizations are already using microservices or plan to do so. According to Gartner, 65% of financial services CIOs plan to increase spending on infrastructure technologies such as microservices, APIs, and cloud in the next year.
Gartner analysts believe that enterprises implementing microservices in production will need to deploy service meshes to scale them. Service meshes are an architectural pattern for implementing microservices. Their main goal is to not only secure communication between services, but also to make it fast and reliable. This is a new technology, but 46% of organizations are already testing it or plan to implement it in the next year.
