I signed up for salsa dance class and French class.
I chose these two because they are the subjects I was already studying in Taiwan.
Moreover, such courses allow me to quickly meet local people with common interests. After class, I can make an appointment with classmates to practice dancing, or go out for a drink with classmates in French class.
The Dominican Republic speaks Spanish, so you brazil mobile database may ask why we don’t take Spanish classes? There are two reasons.
First, my Spanish was already fluent at the time, and if I really wanted to take classes, I would have to take professional-level discussion classes. I looked for three or five language schools, but couldn't find a suitable class.
Second, in Spanish classes, my classmates would be other foreigners, and since locals don’t have to learn Spanish, this wouldn’t help me build a local social circle.
