A personal diary is a textual genre in which a person records their experiences, ideas, opinions, feelings and everyday events. With the popularization of the internet, handwritten diaries have become less common, but there are still those who prefer to write by hand, using paper and pen.

In the digital environment, blogs have taken on a similar function, often being called “virtual diaries” as they share characteristics such as personal accounts and spontaneous writing.
