How much can you withdraw from a Planet Cash or IT Card ATM?

Despite the popularization of cashless transactions, withdrawing cash from ATMs is still very popular. Banknotes in a wallet allow you to make payments wherever you do not have the option of using a card or a banking application on your phone. In local markets, marketplaces, in many smaller shops, with small sellers, farmers offering products and healthy food directly. Some of us value privacy and cash forms of payment so much that we do not use a card issued by a bank or give it up completely. Others prefer to use applications such as BLIK on their smartphones.

Customers of other banks have a single card withdrawal limit of PLN 1,000 at Planet Cash.

Reasons for introducing restrictions
IT Card (PlanetCash network operator) informed that the introduction of the limit is caused by several factors:

Increased costs of operating devices and supplying them with banknotes.
Cash availability requirements for a wider group of customers. Caused by increased withdrawals of larger amounts, expressed during the Coronavirus pandemic.
A fixed fee for a single withdrawal, which the bank pays to the ATM operator in the amount of PLN 1.3. This has not changed for many years and is independent of the amount of a single withdrawal from the device. The fee may be different when the ATM operator has a direct agreement with the bank that issued the card.

Restrictions also in Euronet
The same limit (PLN 1,000) for a single cash withdrawal from an ATM was previously reported by Euronet Polska. The operator of the largest network in the country, with over 7,000 devices. Arguing that this settlement model has been operating in Poland for a dozen or so years. As a result, the profitability of the "ATM business" is systematically decreasing, while the costs of servicing the devices are increasing.
