The implementation and improvement of the "Safe City" complex, ensuring transport security and other issues were discussed during a meeting of the permanent coordination meeting on ensuring law and order in the Novosibirsk Region (PDKS). "This year, the number of cameras in the Safe City APCS has been increased from 2,100 to 4,000 cameras, the connection of priority facilities for 2024 has been completed, with a total of 887 facilities connected. Thus, 160 new cameras have been connected to 40 new trolleybuses and 40 municipal buses on 7 additional routes, and the connection of all key shopping centers in Novosibirsk has been completed. The Minister noted that 33 new cameras from the central streets of Novosibirsk, all military commissariats of the region have been connected, more than 1,200 new cameras are available from intercoms. Cameras promptly installed on the Dimitrovsky and Oktyabrsky bridges to monitor the traffic situation were connected to the Safe City APCS, cameras from the regional hospital and the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation were also connected. Among the new activities in 2024, an approach to using video analytics at mass street events was tested by equipping metal detector frames with online video surveillance cameras with a biometric identification function.
