Depending on the device the image is displayed on, Facebook scales each image accordingly. Hence, the profile picture on computers is displayed as a 168 x 168 pixel image, although – as Facebook itself notes – the image should be sent at least 180 px wide. After many attempts, the optimal size for me turned out to be a 300×300 px square.
Recently, Facebook has changed its recommendations here – now the recommended size is a 340 px square, and this is what works best. Thanks to this resolution, we still have a small file size, and Facebook scales our – larger than recommended – photo to its own dimensions (170x170 px). Nevertheless, the graphics we import in this way remain sharp.
Graphic dimensions recommended by the portal: – Graphic dimensions recommended saudi arabia rcs data by me: 400×960 px
For some time now, Facebook has been displaying only part of long graphics instead of shrinking them. This is a perfect opportunity to present a promotion in this way and reward the recipient who clicks on the graphic.
Here are some examples:
• Ronaldo • My nose .
All you need to create such a graphic are the right dimensions. Facebook will shorten it in the newsfeed view and will show it in its entirety after clicking.
