Describing Images and SEO

Post by sumaiyakhatun26 »

Impossible? And yet – “alt” tags, called “alternative text” of an image in WordPress, are an issue that needs to be taken care of, and yet is probably the most often downplayed.

Google's robots are just robots. They can't see what's in the pictures you're including in your text (yet). So it's important to name your images appropriately (like links) and give them the right ALT tags .

All you need to do is briefly describe what is happening in the image in the "alternative text" field (e.g. "woman typing" or "footprints in the sand").

It’s worth focusing on image names and their ALT tags for three reasons:

a clear structure for search engine algorithms (the link to such an image looks like lebanon rcs data domenta.pl/twojemedia/twoj-obrazek instead of domenta.pl/twojemedia/zrzut-ekranu123456afacebookaudience ),
it tells search engine robots what to see in the image, so that our website can later be found through image search engines,
helps the disabled and is commonly considered to be part of the so-called "accessibility", which is becoming an increasingly important factor and I am convinced that sooner or later Google will start to award points to all websites for this (or rather for the lack of adaptation).
