In daily publications, the negative trend of the first nine months of 2022 is confirmed. On average, 1.57 million copies were sold per day, 9.4% less than in the same period of 2021 and 32.5% less than in 2018.
No particularly significant changes were recorded in newspapers sold in digital format
(fluctuating around 210 copies per day on average in 2022), with a decrease
more contained in the annual figure (-5.7%) but an increase (+12.5%) compared to the correspondent
value of 2018, when copies amounted to around 190 thousand units per day.
The five main national newspapers (L'Avvenire, Il Corriere della Sera, Il Messaggero, La Repubblica, La Stampa) recorded a decrease in newspaper sales in the first nine months of the year.
Paper copies amounted to 10.9% compared to 2021.
