Digital deficits exacerbate the crisis

Unfortunately, there could be another - bitter - twist: Nothing changes, nothing sticks. People will travel again like before, look after themselves like before. Humanity has a short memory. If one's own creative free time or financial well-being is affected, solidarity and environmental protection are quickly over. Let's hope that it doesn't turn out that way.

In fact, in "good" times, Switzerland failed to build a functioning basic digital infrastructure - including a digital communications network. This is now taking its toll in this difficult period in several respects, especially under the requirement of "social distancing", which massively restricts the physical presence of people:
