Each earbud has a 55mAh battery, and the case holds 510mAh of charge. In real-world use, I got about four and a half hours of battery life with ANC on at medium volume, which is in line with HUAWEI’s claims. Turning off ANC can bring the battery life closer to six and a half hours. The case’s total usage time can extend to 33 hours if you’re okay with average sound quality and no noise cancellation. You can charge via USB-C or Qi wireless charging, which is convenient, especially since you can simply place the case on a wireless charger when you get home.

While many of the features are minor improvements over the FreeBuds Pro 3, these earbuds feel polished and may be worth upgrading if great sound and noise cancellation are your top priorities.

The FreeBuds Pro 4 are great for everyday use. They’re lightweight and not bulky, so I barely noticed they were there even during long listening sessions. The earbuds stayed in my ears during casual walks and even a short hike. I also tried running with them for a few minutes, and the foam tips did a great job of keeping them secure.
