Facebook vs. QAnon – Facebook announces that skype database accounts linked to QAnon will now be banned from its platforms. Like Twitter , Facebook (and by extension Instagram) are fighting against the spread of posts that serve the meta-conspiracy of the Trump era , including by removing accounts, pages and ads . But despite this fight, specialists at the Columbia Journalism Review warn that the era of “alternative facts” and QAnon could continue well after the election.
US Elections & Ads – After Google, Facebook announced that it would remove all ads prematurely mentioning a Donald Trump victory . The social network went back on its announcement this week to extend this decision to all politically-oriented ads . Just like Google, the moratorium imposed by Facebook will last one week from the end of the election , in order to “reduce the possibility of confusion or abuse” during the vote counting.
