From 0 to 16 in 21 days hen we set off, we wanted to make the most of our time in Florida. We decided to ask all our acquaintances and business partners for contacts and get recommendations for meetings," says Daniel. We knew about our trip to the USA exactly 21 days before departure, so we made the most of all the time we had to arrange meetings.
The tactic worked. We didn't know anyone in Florida, but when we left, our diaries were already pretty full. We made a total of 8 appointments before our departure, and the other appointments resulted from individual meetings directly in the USA. So we had 16 appointments in total !
I must say that we were surprised that we were able to arrange so job seekers database many meetings and that so many people were willing to help us. Our big advantage was that AITOM already had an American reference and, as we have been confirmed several times in America, this is absolutely essential for success on the local market.
The first crucial piece of information in our anticipation of a possible expansion was an insight into the prices for web development services. We expected that we would be able to compete with local developers primarily on price, but this is not so true. It turned out that we can compete primarily on the quality of development and the established processes in the implementation of online projects. We found that there are more than enough opportunities to establish ourselves in Miami and its surroundings. This is mainly because a lot of investment is now being made in business development and technology to raise the level for potential investors in this area. The Miami area would like to become the “Sillicon Valley of the East Coast”. We brought with us a whole range of experiences, inspiration and perhaps even new projects.
Travel diary
Friday 16. 9. (day one)
We leave Prague at 6:00 AM, landing at 3:00 PM local time – 8,154 km and 6 time zones away . Although our visas were in order, immigration officials were still waiting for us. Daniel probably seems trustworthy because they mainly questioned me. However, in the end, they successfully let us both into Florida.
