1. Third Annual Conference of the Western Sahara Research Group. The Third Annual Conference of the Western Sahara Research Group, sponsored by the Centre for European and International Legal Affairs, will be held on 11 September 2024 at Queen Mary, University of London. This ‘in person’ event seeks to interrogate the international status of Western Sahara and its ongoing significance from the vantage points of Public International Law, the law and policy of the European Union and International Relations/Politics. The Conference Programme and registration process can be found here. The Conference will be followed by a book launch in connection with Stephen Allen and Jamie Trinidad’s book The Western Sahara Question and International Law: Recognition Doctrine and Self-determination (Routledge, 2024, open access).
2. International Residential School of Kathmandu School of Law. The 16th International Residential School of Kathmandu School of Law on Economic, Social and Development Rights will span over a period of 21 days, from 10 November. It is is designed to delve into the vk database theme of ‘Decolonizing Law and Justice.’ It will take place at the Kathmandu School of Law’s International Research and Outreach Center in Namobuddha, Kavre. Law students, young professionals and scholars from around the world related to the filed of human rights economics and development may apply. Participants are requested to prepare an abstract of 300 words based on any of the topics covered above in the concept note emphasizing on Decolonizing Law and Justice and submit it with the Registration Form.
