LSI Keywords: What are they? A new type of keyword? Well, let's explain it in detail, but not before providing some historical context about the use of keywords in content marketing.
About a decade ago, for example, articles were very well-stuffed with keywords. To give you an idea, writers received briefs for articles of 300 to 400 words, with a keyword that should be repeated seven times throughout the (long?) text.

This does not mean that synonyms cannot be LSI, however, they are only part of what LSI keywords are. The most important factor to consider is the context of the keyword.
For example, you are going to write an article about the benefits of WhatsApp Business for businesses . This is a messaging app that has been adapted for businesses. The keyword you will use will be “WhatsApp Business” and the LSI keyword will be “messaging app”. Although they are not synonyms, they are used in the same context.
The use of LSI keywords takes us to more advanced SEO and a new front in content creation.
This change is yet another way for Google to improve its processes (and algorithms) to deliver more relevant content and results to users.
How do keywords work?
It may still be too early to say that using keywords in the way they have been used to do no longer matters. What we do know is that the repeated use of a specific keyword no longer matters, and what's worse: Google may penalize sites that use it excessively.
As far as LSIs are concerned, the more they are used, the better the search engine will understand them and the greater the chances of the article being ranked.
Finally, varying the terms used in posts brings other benefits besides looking good in Google's eyes. With more terms, there is a greater chance of becoming visible, since this search query can happen for other related keywords.
