This season, let's multiply Christmas!

Post by shukla7789 »

It's the small gestures that make a difference, but it's also the great spirit of solidarity that marks this Christmas season. And the countdown to Christmas is already beginning: it's time to immerse ourselves in the spirit of mutual aid, focus our efforts on those who need it most and immerse ourselves in this wave of solidarity that is so characteristic of this festive season.

In a year marked by great challenges and obstacles, which forced physical distancing, we wanted to be closer to those who need it most. In the spirit of Christmas, this year we will multiply Christmas with those who are suffering the most from the consequences of the pandemic and deliver dream gifts to the most needy children, bringing a little more magic to this season, through a series of initiatives such as:

Multiply Christmas

This Christmas, PRIMAVERA joined forces with Refood, a non-profit association, and japan whatsapp number database a solidarity movement to support the restaurant sector and families experiencing greater financial difficulties, offering the amount usually allocated to employees' Christmas dinners to Refood to buy Christmas dinners for their beneficiaries from restaurants.

The money earmarked for the Christmas dinner will be converted into meals to provide work for restaurants – a sector heavily affected by the impact of the pandemic – and, at the same time, help families in vulnerable situations. Through the "Multiplying Christmas" initiative , PRIMAVERA will offer Christmas dinner to 300 families in vulnerable situations living in the regions of Braga, Leiria and Lisbon, locations where PRIMAVERA has its offices.

A Toy for a Smile

For over 10 years, the PRIMAVERA community has been distributing smiles to children supported by Cáritas Nacional! To date, thanks to the generosity of the PRIMAVERA community, made up of customers, partners and employees, over 8,000 children have received their dream gift on Christmas Day, through the "A toy for a smile" initiative .

As in recent years, more than a thousand children supported by dozens of regional Caritas delegations will receive their dream gift this Christmas, in an initiative supported by godfathers and godmothers who help to make the Christmas wishes of disadvantaged children across the country come true.

Christmas dinner for 150 children in Angola

With the aim of making Christmas happier and more colorful for hundreds of children, this year we will offer Christmas dinner to 150 children from REMAR Angola .

REMAR is a non-governmental organization that was born from the desire to help the most vulnerable population, improving the living conditions of children, families and communities through the fight against social marginalization, hunger or poverty.

REMAR, which operates free of charge, relies on the help of several companies and, this year, PRIMAVERA joined the initiative to support the 150 abandoned, orphaned or rehabilitated children taken in by the institution, while also helping a restaurant, responsible for delivering the meals.

Meals for the Donu Nha Distinu association in Cape Verde

With the same objective in mind, in Cape Verde, PRIMAVERA embraces the Donu Nha Distinu association to offer meals during this Christmas season.

This initiative will benefit families that include young ex-prisoners or those in conflict with the law, while simultaneously supporting a restaurant for the delivery of meals.

Support for victims of floods and other vulnerabilities in Mozambique

In Mozambique, PRIMAVERA will support Mumemo by providing meals on Christmas Day. This project supports families affected by floods and other vulnerabilities by building thousands of homes, improving the quality of life of affected families, providing meals or medicines, and also supporting the population affected by the AIDS virus.

At a time that fosters a true feeling of empathy for others, by offering Christmas dinner, we will simultaneously support local suppliers and families who need help to deliver a little of the magic of this Christmas season to those who need it most.
