Let's say that the most frequent entries in your diary were related to your future profession, healthy lifestyle and animal protection. Then your goals for the coming year may look like this:
Run a half marathon.
There should be no stray dogs!
Find a job.
Start working on achieving your goals with visualization so that your main goals are always in front of you. You can display the list on your computer desktop or smartphone screen. If you use a paper bahamas phone number lead planner, write your goals on a small cardboard rectangle and use it as a bookmark. It is important to regularly look at this “strategic cardboard” when planning so as not to forget to allocate time for important tasks that bring you closer to your goals. This is the second important point: always keep your goals within sight.
3. Work with “tasks” and “problems”.
Once your goals are formulated and visualized, work begins on turning your goals into concrete actions. Most of your goals can be classified as one of two types: “task” or “problem.” A task is when it is clear what you want to achieve and what you need to do to achieve it. “Run a half marathon” and “Find a job” fall into this category. To achieve your goal, do the following:
Break the task into parts
Describe the method of achieving it
Determine how you will monitor implementation
Run a half marathon:
Run 3 km more every month
Training on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
Races in May, in July. Competitions in September.
The task "Find a job" is more difficult, but we solve it in the same way:
We break it down into parts, and here we can’t get by with just one step:
We write down the method of achievement: we include it in the plans for the month, for the week, we reserve time for implementation, we find the necessary courses, etc.
We determine the deadlines and desired results for each stage.
We often have a goal for which we do not yet see a clear path, it is something ideal, eternal, maybe even unattainable, but something very important to us. "There should be no homeless dogs!" is an example of such a goal, it can be classified as a "Problem" type. It is difficult to prescribe a specific algorithm for achieving it, but we can define several completely different directions and try to follow any of them:
Keep this list of possibilities in front of you at all times. And you will see that very soon you will be able to include in your work plan some specific task aimed at achieving your high goal.
In most cases, classic time management methods will help you in your daily work to achieve your goals: prioritization, planning, budgeting. Read about them in other materials on our blog. We are sure that our advice will help you learn to spend your precious time on really important things!
