The European Court of Justice has ruled in Google's favour . According to the BBC , the Mountain View giant will be able to keep the content removed under the right to be forgotten globally , meaning it will only have to remove the links from its search results in Europe.

The dispute dates back to 2015, when French privacy regulator CNIL asked the company to globally remove results containing false or harmful content about a person. At the time, Google used its geo-blocking function only for European users, a measure that did not convince the regulator and ended in a fine of 100,000 euros by the French National Commission for albania phone number Information Technology and Civil Liberties and contested by Google.
