The internet giant will open its AdSense advertising network to ads from other networks, but reserves the right to choose which ads it places. The company announced its plans in an email sent to its AdSense customers.
With this move, Google hopes that sites that amazon data are part of the AdSense network will earn more advertising revenue. “They will soon be able to display advertising from multiple ad networks on their website. This means that advertisers on Google-certified third-party networks will be able to compete for ad space with AdWords advertisers,” the email cited by TechCrunch states .
As for Google certification, it would consist of an evaluation of external ads to check that they follow Google's guidelines regarding data protection, advertising quality and loading speed. AdSense users will also be able to control the internal ads that are inserted and even block certain ad networks, or all of them, if they wish.
By doing this, Google is putting its competitors on its side and ensuring that its AdSense customers remain loyal to its advertising system.
