The Chinese don't speak directly

Post by sadiksojib35 »

In Chinese business culture, it is not customary to refuse unambiguously and directly. No matter what happens in production, you will actually be told that "everything is fine". Therefore, pay attention to the wording and the general context of the conversation.

For example, you can ask the manufacturer for a product design, but the Chinese won't want to do it. No one will tell you "no" directly. The manufacturer will probably refer to external factors that will have little to do with reality.

What the excuse might sound like: "We'll check if this australia whatsapp number data is possible from a copyright standpoint." Spoiler: most likely not.

You can ask about the status of the task later, but production will most likely respond again: “we will consult with the designers and come back with feedback.”

When your question is not answered to the point, it most likely means a refusal. It is important not to press the Chinese too hard and not to demand a direct answer, as such behavior is considered impolite and unconstructive.

Chinese culture is considered highly contextual: it places a lot of meaning in indirect messages, words, gestures, and manner of speaking. For such cases, we recommend hiring dedicated consultants who speak Chinese and have experience working with manufacturing.
