Three types of augmented reality

Post by monira#$1244 »

There are three main types of AR technology: location-based AR, spatial AR, and marker-based AR. Let’s take a closer look at each of these to better understand how AR works.

Location-based AR
Location-based AR is a type of AR that displays digital information by bulgaria telegram number database linking location information acquired by GPS with real scenery captured by a smartphone or tablet's camera. Pokemon Go and navigation apps that use AR arrows on the screen to display directions are also classified as GPS AR. This type of AR is often used for activities such as city tours because the information displayed changes depending on the location.

Spatial Augmented Reality
Spatial AR, also known as projected AR, projects 3D objects onto the camera screen based on the position of the device’s camera. Virtual live broadcasts, where you can enjoy a performance where characters sing in front of you in real space, or simulated furniture installations, are all examples of spatially aware AR.

Marker-based AR
Marker-based AR is able to identify specific objects in images scanned by the device's camera and apply AR effects to them. Examples include 3D coloring pages that make your drawings come to life and Instagram or Snapchat filters that morph your face. Typically, the app looks for specific images, called markers, and then changes the image through AR prompts.
