Simetra Group supplied and implemented an integration platform as part of the implementation of the first stage of the project to deploy an intelligent transport system (ITS) in the Vladimir agglomeration.

The customer of the works was the Road Safety Center of the Vladimir Region. The design was carried out by experts from the integrator company "Simetra Systems". The company is part of the Simetra Group of Companies and specializes in projects for the implementation of ITS "turnkey".

Over the course of four months, Simetra specialists surveyed the main transport facilities, determined locations for new traffic lights and weather stations, transport detectors and road video cameras. Based on this data, an ITS control center was designed, based on the domestic integration platform RITM. The solution includes several modules, including for transport planning and forecasting, as well as coordinated traffic management and its modeling.

The development of the intelligent transport system in the Vladimir agglomeration is planned until 2030 and is being implemented within the framework of the national project "Safe and High-Quality Roads". The agglomeration provides for the modernization of traffic lights and the installation of video cameras. "Smart" equipment will analyze road traffic, record congestion, as well as violations of traffic rules and, through analytics, improve the traffic situation and harmonize the mobility of the population.

The project was developed taking into account the location of the city's business and historical center along the banks of the Klyazma River, reversible traffic on the bridge, and the need to reduce the time spent on the road by residents of the region.

"The project uses exclusively domestic solutions - for Simetra ITS Vladimir agglomeration is already the seventh project of successful implementation of the transport planning and management system based on the digital platform RITM. It allows combining various systems for effective mobility management in agglomerations. This is one of the first steps in the implementation of ITS. I would like to emphasize that the project will not affect the appearance of the historical part of the city in any way, but will significantly increase the mobility of citizens and bring the transport system of the agglomeration to a qualitatively new level," said Dmitry Stavsky, General Director of Simetra Systems.

The solution will improve the quality of traffic flow management, reduce congestion on main roads during rush hours, and, in accordance with the goals of the national project "Safe and High-Quality Roads", improve the traffic situation.
