The first meeting of the Commission on Cloud Technologies, Hosting and Information Security, established at the Regional Public Center for Internet Technologies (ROCIT), was devoted to ensuring the security of remote electronic voting (REV). Artem Izbaenkov, Director of Cybersecurity Development at EdgeCenter, called for proactive action to stay ahead of attackers and be ready to respond to new challenges, such as the growing power of DDoS attacks or the use of deepfakes for information manipulation. He also emphasized that deepfakes can be distributed not only by ordinary people or bloggers, but also by the media, which increases the effect of the attack. Artem Izbaenkov proposed creating special mechanisms for monitoring and controlling the activity of potential attackers. Moreover, these mechanisms should work constantly, and not only during election campaigns, and at the same time with the use of digital risk protection (DRP) technologies, in particular, tracking activity on various types of hacker resources, including non-public ones.
